HP Deskjet 2632
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently changed my wireless SSID on my router and now my printer won't connect to it at all.

I tried to reconfigure it after I changed the SSID but it keeps failing to connect.

I tried via wps, HP Smart app (mobile and desktop) and the HP Deskjet 2600 series software on my PC.

I even tried the troubleshooter software and still no dice!

Can anyone help me? I am losing my mind!

Replacing/reconnecting/changing your wireless router, try here.

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/wireless-printing-center/reconfiguring-system-help3.html

* Reset your printer back to Network Defaults.  Then run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect.  Both can be accessed from the front panel or computer.  If no front panel for configuration, you must use your Printer USB cable to connect.  You can also try the WPS method if your router/printer supports this only if the Wizard or Printer USB cable is not available.  Read your User Guide for info.

* Wireless printers only connect to the 2.4G band in your router.  The router must have the 2.4G SSID band enabled with a different SSID name than your 5.0G SSID band in your router.

* Set router to a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never ‘auto’.  Try channel 1 first then the others one at a time.

* Make sure printer and router are at least 5 feet apart.

* Make sure IPv6 is disabled in the printer.

Make and model of modem and router?

However if you have a Gateway (modem+router) device, all Gateway devices are terrible for wireless connectivity.   If this does not work, suggest you think about putting that gateway device in full bridge mode and install your own high quality router that YOU have full control over.

Hey thanks for the reply. It's a PlusNet OneHub Fiber router. I had no trouble connecting to it when I first set it up. It was working fine. Then I changed my SSID to something else and it won't let me reconfigure.

I did get an error stating the SSID was incorrect but I checked and it was the exact same as the one on my network.

How do I reset network settings? If it is a case of holding in the cancel and wireless buttons for 3 seconds I already did that, and there is no touch screen.

Here are the two errors I keep getting. Most common one is the SSID one.

Your Network reset is correct, might try holding the button down for longer, then try.

If the same, in the router temporarily disable all security on the 2.4G SSID.  Now try to connect to your unsecured SSID.  Are you successful?

If yes, go back and add WPA2-AES with your password and try again.

Hi there. I tried the above options and still no joy. I don't know what else to do 😞

OK, you say you removed all security off the router and the printer still does not connect.   Time to contact your ISP and ask them why a device with no security can not connect to their router.  Good luck.
