The Scanner does not work because the message from the printer is that it cannot find the computer.  I uninstall the printer, then re-download it again.  When the printer was being connected to the computer, the message popped up that said, the setting was incomplete because of a metered connection.  I do not know what a metered connection is, and I also do not know how that metered connection got into either my printer or lab top.  Can someone help me?

Hi @Moana

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

What's the operating system installed on the computer?

How are you trying to connect to the internet - Cellular Data or Wi-Fi?

A metered connection is an Internet connection that has a data limit associated with it. Cellular data connections are set as metered by default. Wi-Fi network connections can be set to metered, but aren't by default. Some apps and features in Windows will behave differently on a metered connection to help reduce your data usage.

HP recommends connecting the printer to a Wi-Fi network instead of the hotspot connections.

Let me know.
