Hi @SMWSMW
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 5055 printer is no longer able to connect or communicate with your network, which is likely causing the issue with printing. Let's walk through a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this:
1. Restart the Printer and Devices
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your phone and the router as well, just to reset any network communication issues.
2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon (or navigate to Settings > Wireless).
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Ensure that the printer successfully connects to the network. A confirmation message should appear.
3. Check Printer's Network Connection
- If the wireless icon shows that the printer is connected to the network, it should be good to go. However, sometimes a connection can drop without warning.
- Print a Network Configuration Page (typically found in the printer’s Wireless settings or Reports section) to see the current connection status. This page will tell you if it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
4. Reinstall or Update Printer Drivers
- On your phone or computer, uninstall the printer and reinstall it using the latest drivers or the HP Smart app.
- If you are using the HP Smart app, try uninstalling and reinstalling it, then follow the app’s prompts to reconnect your printer.
- On your computer, go to HP's website, search for the HP ENVY 5055 model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
5. Check for Firmware Updates
Sometimes an outdated firmware version can cause connectivity issues. Check for any available firmware updates from within the printer's settings.
I hope this helps.
