Hello all,

I was recently given a printer and I am trying to set it up. It is saying I can't print without setting up Instant Ink (which is fine). I am trying to register this printer on my HP account as well as set this printer up with Instant Ink. My issue is that it needs a claim code. Because I cannot print without the Instant Ink, I have found information that I need to go to Web Services, use the info before @hpeprint.com, etc. I use these codes (and have removed Web Services several times to get new codes) and nothing is working. On Instant Ink I get "Printer code not recognized. Try again.", and on HP Smart Add a Printer I get "Request failed with status code 520". What can I do???

Thank you,

Hi @unhipcarrot

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Claim Code".

Please try these steps -

Step#1 Remove the Web-Services -

1. From the printer control panel display, touch ( ePrint ), and then touch (Web Services Settings).

2. Touch Remove Web Services.

3. Touch Yes.

Reboot the router and the printer.

Step#2 Enable the Web-Services -

1. From the printer control panel display, touch HP Printables.

2. Touch Enable Web Services, and then touch Yes.

3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.

4. In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.

5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.
