My printer is connected to the wifi as well as my mac. The troubleshooter showed no problems, my mac says it's ready to print but then gets stuck on "Looking for Printer" and won't print. I tried restarting both the printer and the mac but still nothing.

@HPteacher (it's awesome to finally meet you, the "HP Teacher"...) 😉 Nice choice of handle.
Thank you for being a part of HP Forums.
It'll be an honor to guide you through the steps needed to fix your concern or address your query 😉
As I understand the printer isn't working on your mac device,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Have you installed the printer using the Air-print drivers?
- Does the printer work fine as a copier (stand alone device) ?
- Did you print a test page to check if that works fine?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
Check the printing requirements:
Make sure your printer and Apple iOS device meet the following requirements to print with AirPrint.
-
iOS 4.2 or later running on the Apple iOS device
-
An HP printer that supports AirPrint
HP wireless printers released in 2010 and later support AirPrint. For detailed information about which HP printers support AirPrint, go to Mobile Printing Solutions Compatible with HP Printers.
-
A connection to the printer
Your printer and the Apple iOS device must be on the same local network or your printer must support Wi-Fi Direct or HP wireless direct.
Try to print. If a No AirPrint printers found message displays, continue to the next step to connect the printer.
-
Make sure your Mac is connected to the Internet.
-
In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button
to delete it.
-
Click the Add button
.
-
Find and select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
NOTE:
If your printer does not display in the list, make sure the printer is connected, turned on, has power, and is ready to print.

-
Click Print Using or Use.
-
Select AirPrint.

Your new printer queue displays in the Printers list in an Idle status
.

-
Try printing again.
-
If the printer prints, you can stop troubleshooting.
-
If the printer remains offline or displays an error, continue to the next step.
