Hi, I can't get my Envy 4500 to find any wireless networks, yet other devices are no problem (Laptop etc). Is there some way to reset this? I've tried HP Scan and Fix to no avail. When I go into Wireless Setup Wizard it just goes to 'searching for wireless networks' and stays there.

Hey there! @Mastercam99, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issues connecting to wireless network from the printer control panel.

Don't worry I'll to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Are you able to make a copy from your printer?

Are you able to use the printer using USB connection?

Please share the operating system you are running on your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned when you try to connect wireless network from your printer the wireless networks are not getting detected by your printer.

If you have a dual-band router, make sure it is set to the 2.4 GHz band. If your router is set to the 5 GHz band, the printer cannot connect to the network.

I appriciate your efforts for trying out the steps before reaching out to us.

Try the steps recommended below.

Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any error states present during the printer setup.

   NOTE:

The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the router.

  2. Turn off the printer.

  3. Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

  5. Turn on the printer.

  6. Turn on the computer.

  7. Try installing the HP driver and software again.

Also, if the issue persists try performing a network defaults on your printer and connect to the network again.

1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status
menu.
2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless
Settings menu.
3. Select Restore Defaults.
4. Confirm selection to restore defaults

@Mastercam99, Thanks for your quick response and time.

You did a Marvelous job by trying the steps recommended previously.

However, there are few more troubleshooting steps left, please try those and let me know how it goes.

Try performing a semi-full reset on your printer and check if it helps.

As the steps to perform a semi-full reset is confidential, I will share you the steps in a private message.

Hi Mr Robot - have done the semi reset but to no avail I'm afraid, it's still stuck on 'searching for wireless networks'. I guess I'm going to have to assume the wi-fi chip is broken?
