Basic printer that doesn’t print or copy.
Touchscreen initially unresponsive and only solved by switching mains power on and off again
Now won’t copy of single sheet of a4 paper in black. Printed copy comes out blank - and yes - original was placed the right way round.
Very frustrating - have resorted to photographing the sheet of paper.
(Laughably the printer has managed to go online and order itself some replacement ink however having completed the printing of four blank sheets).
Printers will soon be extinct thank god.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- Place a color document on the scanner glass and try making a color copy and check if that works.
- Have you tried with an alternate/new Black ink cartridge?
Step 1: Check the estimated ink levels
On the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon to display the current estimated ink levels.
Replace any low or empty ink cartridges.
Step 2: Clean the ink cartridges
-
Load U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup
.
The Setup menu displays.
-
Swipe the display up, and then touch Printer Maintenance.
-
Touch Clean Cartridges.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Proceed when prompted to continue the next level of cleaning. Repeat these steps for the third cleaning stage, if necessary.
Step 3: If the touch screen is not responding, Update the printer firmware and perform a Hard reset
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Let me know how this goes.
