HP Envy Photo 6234

After a failed firmware update, my printer screen is stuck in "Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink", won't reconnect to HP Instant Ink and won't allow any other UI/screen based config.

Before the failed firmware update, all was working fine, connected fine to Instant Ink, have printed many hundreds of pages over the last year or two.

I've done a partial and semi-full reset (following Youtube guides to get to the Engineering and Support menus) and followed the Virtual Assistant's playbook to fix this but despite now having Wifi connectivity, connected from HP Smart, via Advanced Settings/Web API removed/configured Web Services OK (says Enabled and Connected, but Instant Ink disabled) the Instant Ink website says the printer is Online (green tickbox) but Unable to connect. Always, the screen returns to "Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink".

I don't have the Setup cartridges any more so don't want to try a full factory reset and the printer is now more than 1 year old. I see some others have been able to fix this kind of issue by correcting the date and time, but I can find no display or config options for date/time.

Any suggestions?

After a quick call with HP support this morning, all that was needed was resetting something in my HP Instant Ink account (from their side) and the printer reconnected ok.
