I have been trying to get my Envy to access my wireless network.  I've run through the virtual assistant with no luck on any troubleshooting methods.  It feels like there is something wrong with the wireless adapter in the printer.  I can connect and communicate  hard wired but when I switch to wireless the printer cannot recognize the SSID and will not connect to a manual entry.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Ricearoni516

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to connect the printer to the wireless network. I'd be happy to assist you.

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network setup > Wireless settings > Print reports > Wireless test report.

If the wireless radio and wireless say pass, it means the hardware is working fine.

Check if MAC filtering is enabled on your wireless router. You may check this with your Internet service provider.

If not, restart  your wireless router amd the printer.

Go to Network setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried the steps you listed and have no change.  I cannot do anything with MAC filtering as printer isn't communicating at all with the network so the MAC isn't discoverable.

After restoring the network settings the printer cannot find my network or any other SSID's. The blue wireless light on the front panel is blinking.  When I select Wireless details I see the following:

IP Address: Not Connected

Signal: Not available

Network Name: Not available

I believe there is something wrong with the printers wireless adapter.  I've reset my wireless router.  Thank you for your continued help.

@Ricearoni516

To check the functionality of the wireless adapter, let us print a wireless test report.

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network > Print reports > Wireless test report.

If the wireless and wireless radio say PASS, it means it is working fine.

You may attach the image of the report in your next post.

Keep me posted.

It's unfortunate that the wireless radio has failed in the printer. Please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it is a hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Since my product is out of warranty and there are no "replacement" parts available in the store am I out of luck and destined for no wireless connectivity with this product?  Can't seem to find any alternate contact methods on the support site.

Thanks for the assistance to this point.

HP Recommended

@Ricearoni516, that's unfortunate.

As the wireless card in the printer is defective, you may use a USB cable to connect the printer and the PC to print and scan.

You may visit HP Store to check for an available printer to upgrade.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
