Hi, my printer has alignment issues but when I performed alignment the result is it skips some lines. Also I can't print the Print Quality Diagnostic properly it gets stuck in the middle and keeps on printing sound endlessly. Can someone have any idea on how to fix this? I cleaned my cartridges and performed reset on the printer but nothing works.
there is a skipped line and above part was truncated
only upper part was printed and a line that is smudged or blurred
sample print with alignment issue

Hi @silverhairz,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue you're describing with your HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 suggests there may be a problem with the printhead, the ink supply, or the printer's firmware. Here are steps to help resolve the issue:
1. Check Ink Levels and Refill if Needed
- Ensure that the ink tanks are sufficiently filled and that there are no air bubbles in the ink supply lines.
- Gently tap the ink tank to remove any air bubbles, if present.
2. Perform a Printhead Cleaning
Use the HP Smart app or your printer’s control panel to perform a deep cleaning of the printhead:
- Open HP Smart > Select your printer > Maintenance or Tools.
- Choose Clean Printhead. You might need to perform this multiple times.
If you don't have HP Smart:
- Go to Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > Printing Preferences > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
3. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open the printer and inspect for any small bits of paper or debris that could be interfering with alignment or causing the diagnostic page to get stuck.
4. Update the Printer Firmware HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Outdated firmware can cause unusual behavior. Update the firmware using:
- HP Smart app or
- Visit the HP Support website > Enter your printer model > Firmware section.
5. Re-calibrate the Printer
- After cleaning and updating, perform another alignment:
- Load plain white paper in the input tray.
- Open HP Smart or use the printer’s control panel > Select Align Printer.
6. Manually Clean the Printhead
If the automatic cleaning doesn’t resolve the skipping lines:
- Power off the printer and carefully remove the printhead (refer to your printer manual for guidance).
- Using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water, clean the nozzles gently.
- Dry the printhead with a clean cloth, reinstall it, and perform an alignment again.
7. Check the Cartridge Health
- If the ink cartridges or printhead are defective, they may need replacement. Ensure you're using genuine HP ink to avoid compatibility issues.
8. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to identify and fix any driver or hardware issues.
9. Factory Reset the Printer
If none of the above steps work, perform a factory reset:
- Hold the Power button and press Cancel or Resume (depending on your printer model) for about 10 seconds.
- Note: This will reset settings and require reconfiguration.
Refer to this document: HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 User manual

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi, thank you for the suggestions but I did everything and none of them had work. Please note that I can print documents but they are misaligned and there are some skipped lines. I can't do the alignment via HP Smart app since alignment page is also misaligned. Papers getting stuck only when I print any test page for diagnostic and even test page when cleaning the cartridges through HP Smart App. My firmware also updated with the latest. This is frustrating because I only clean the cartridges manually and then after I put them back these misalignment and skipping lines happened. Do you have sample Alignment page that I can download and print from the other printer so I can use it for the Step 2 in alignment? or is there a way to reinstall the software of the printer?
