Hello,

My Printer (HP Officejet Pro 8710) Is connected to wifi, but won't print. I tried scan, copy, everything. It says printing (1/1) and after a minute or so it cancels the print job. In addition, when I go to print from my phone, it finds the printer but won't connect. Anyone have any idea as to what could be the problem? Thank you!

Hi @Karen092322 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Troubleshooting printing issues can involve several steps. Here are suggestions to help you resolve the problem with your HP Officejet Pro 8710:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer and phone.
  • Check if there are any issues with the Wi-Fi connection on the printer. You may need to reconnect it to the network.

Printer Status:

  • Make sure there are no error messages or warnings on the printer's display.
  • Check if there is enough paper in the paper tray and that there are no paper jams.

Print Queue:

  • Clear the print queue on your computer. Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause issues.
  • On your computer, go to the printer settings, find your printer, and cancel any pending print jobs.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your computer and the printer. This can often resolve connectivity issues.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. You can usually find this information on the HP website.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the drivers from the HP website.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Sometimes, antivirus or firewall software can interfere with the printing process. Temporarily disable such software and check if the issue persists.

Mobile Printing:

  • If you're having trouble printing from your phone, make sure you have the correct mobile printing app installed.
  • Check if there are any updates available for the mobile printing app.

Reset Printing System (Mac):

  • If you are using a Mac, you can try resetting the printing system. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click in the printer list, and choose "Reset printing system."

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
