Thank you for this. None of this has worked. The wifi is fine and i have a second printer linked up to it and printing no problems. As I said in my initial query the wifi in the printer has been disabled. Is there a way of enabling it?

Hi @DSN276,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the Wi-Fi functionality on your HP OfficeJet 200 printer has been disabled, and you're encountering a message that suggests you need to contact the person who set up the printer. This message often indicates that the Wi-Fi feature has been disabled through the printer’s settings or admin controls. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
**1. Restart the Printer and Router
- Printer Restart: Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary connectivity issues.
- Router Restart: Restart your Wi-Fi router as well. Power it off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on to refresh the network.
**2. Check Printer Settings
- Control Panel: On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings. Look for options related to Wi-Fi or network settings.
- Restore Defaults: If possible, try restoring the printer’s network settings to default. This will reset the network settings and might allow you to set up the Wi-Fi again.
**3. Access Printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Find Printer’s IP Address: Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to find the IP address.
- How to Print Network Configuration Page:
- Navigate to the Setup menu on the printer’s control panel.
- Look for Reports or Network Configuration and print the page.
- How to Print Network Configuration Page:
- Open EWS: Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Login: If prompted, use the default admin credentials or any custom credentials set during initial setup.
- Network Settings: Look for network settings or wireless settings in the EWS and enable Wi-Fi if it’s disabled.
**4. Printer’s Admin Password
- Admin Password: If the printer has an admin password set, you will need it to change settings. If you don’t have it, try contacting the person who set up the printer or check any documentation that came with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
