Hello,

My printer used to be connected to the HP WebServices so I could email attachments to an email address and the printer would print it. I noticed recently that this stopped working.  I did a factory reset and tried to connect to webservices again, and I get this error:

Cannot connect to the server.

Check the Internet connection and try again. Or contact your administrator or the person who set up the printer.
If your network requires a proxy server address to connect to Internet, click Enter Proxy or check your browser settings.

My wireless connection is excellent (I have an AP in the same room as the printer), and it has the same settings that many other wireless devices in my network have and they connect to the internet properly. There is no Proxy server and it has a static IP with the proper gateway and DNS servers. I disabled IPv6, and I can connect to the printer via the web interface on my network. I also downloaded the windows drivers and tried to do an update and setup the printer from the windows software and when it came to enabling webservices it told me it could not "clear the proxy settings"??

Again this has worked for quite some time and all of a sudden it has stopped. Has anyone had this issue? If so please share with how you got it fixed!

Thanks

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers

Let's add and remove web services:

1. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, touch (HP ePrint), and then touch (Web Services Settings).

2. Touch Remove Web Services.

3. Restart the router and the printer.

4. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, touch ( Setup ).

5. Touch Web Services.

6. Touch Yes to accept the Web Services terms of setup.

7. The printer will automatically check updates and set up Web Services.

8. Touch OK when you see Web Services have been set up successfully.

9. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page, and shows Web Services Summary on the screen.

Let me know if this helps.

Hello Betty0610,

I found that document and followed the steps before I posted on this forum, and the printer still will not connect.

I have tried with the printer set to DHCP (all other devices on the network using DHCP can reach the internet.. I have also tried using a static IP with manual DNS to 8.8.8.8/1.1.1.1 and it still does not connect. No matter what I always get the same error:

Cannot connect to the server.

Check the Internet connection and try again. Or contact your administrator or the person who set up the printer.
If your network requires a proxy server address to connect to Internet, click Enter Proxy or check your browser settings.

This is my home network and does not have a proxy server.

What is the hostname or server IP that it is trying to reach to register? I can try to ping it from my network.

I have also included a screenshot of the printer info.
