I Am An HP Employee

I called. After getting disconnected, I called again. After an hour of going through the same troubleshooting steps provided by @KrazyToad, they said it was a hardware issue. Out of warranty, buy a new printer. So, basically HP decided not to support this printer.
I strongly suggest that people not support HP. Buy a different printer from a company that doesn't disable functionality from its devices (meaning ELIMINATES STATED FUNCTIONALITY), with no way for the user to opt out. It's as if Apple said, you won't be able to use your iPhone for the same things you used it for yesterday (different from you can't take advantage of new functions).
If there are any attorneys out there who want to start a class action, consider me the prime plaintiff.

It's tough to understand how it could be a hardware issue. It prints fine on the local network (with full network capabilities, including network connectivity to HP's own DNS servers) so it can ONLY be a software issue.
