Hi, I've connected my printer HP Photosmart 6510 to my network and when I try to search it with the software I cannot find it.
I can't print.
In the printer's display I read:
Connection ok and good signal
IP address: 192.168.1.6
MAC address: 2C:76:8A:15:F0:44
but in my router Netgear N300 on Wireless devices connected I read:
Wireless Devices (Wireless intruders also show up here):
Device Name IP Address MAC Address Connection Type HUAWEI_P9_LITE 192.168.0.3 FC:3F:7C:23:D6:3C Wireless -- -- 2C:76:8A:15:F0:44 Wireless
The first device is my smartphone, and the second is my printer.
Why the name and IP address of my printer doesn't appear in my wireless devices? is it normal?

Hi @Belly80naz,
Good Day. Thank you for taking an interest in the HP community. I understand that you require assistance regarding setting up the printer on the wireless network and printing from it. I will be really glad to assist you here. 🙂
Fabulous description and superb diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. )
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you run the wireless setup wizard and check if the issue gets resolved?
- Do you get any errors while printing?
- Is the computer, phone and the printer connected to the same wireless network.
For now, try these steps:
- If you notice the IP range of the printer and the phone are different. They are not in range or in sync. They are out of range. The phone is not seeing the printer correctly or handshaking with it.
- Please ensure that the router broadcasts at 2.4 GHz Band and the wireless mode is B/G. These are the modes and bands in which the printer gets recognized and operates correctly.
- Temporarily disable all firewalls and security software.
- So please run the wireless setup wizard again from the computer from this link:
- http://hp.care/2y4zevH although it is for Windows 8, the steps are relevant for Windows 10 also.
- Then ensure that the printer, the computer and the phone are connected to the same network by means of a router.
- If it is your computer, run print and scan doctor from this link: http://hp.care/2syjvp6; and check if the issue gets resolved.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂

Hi David,
I followed all your instructions and I solved the problem!!!
Probably my router mode was on N (up to 300Mbps) and it's not on B or G.
I try to set it on "up to 54 Mbsp" that I read somewhere, it's for B mode and tried to reconnect the printer, and it's done!
Thank you very much and have a good work!!
