Hi Please help,

Since changing broadband supplier (and router) our HP Photosmart 5520 won't print wirelessly from any of our Macbooks, iphone/pads or Windows devices. They consistently can't find it/connect to it.

The printer itself says it is connected fine to the correct wifi.

The printer will print if you email the document directly.

I have repeatedly restarted routers/printers/computers. I've restored printer to factory settings and started again, still nothing.

I have turned off the firewall on the router in case that was blocking it- still no printing.

Is there any settings on the printer itself I need to change?

Many thanks!

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand you need support and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

Approximately how far is the printer located from the wireless router?

What's the make and model of your router?

Do you have a guest network enabled on your router?

Do you have 5GHz network enabled on your router?

Let me know!

Thank you,

The printer is right next to the router.

The router is a ZyXel (AMG1302-T11C)

No guest network enabled

No 5GHZ enabled

Hope you can help!

You are welcome!

Updating printer firmware then resetting the printer network settings and reconnecting it back to the network may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Download and install the printer firmware update available here

2.) Unplug your modem/router and leave it powered off.

3.) Restart your printer, from the printer control panel, touch Settings, touch Wireless and select Restore Network Defaults.

4.) Power off your printer.

5.) Reconnect your modem/router and wait for it to re-establish its internet connection.

6.) Power on your printer.

7.) On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon .

8.) Touch Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.

Once the printer is connected to your home WiFi, connect all the other devices to the same wireless network and try to print.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your suggestions,

I can't download the firmware as it tries to search for the device, but can't find it. (So I can't go any further!)

Any suggestions?! Thanks

You may connect the printer to PC using a USB cable or use the printer control panel display update the printer firmware. If you have a printer USB cable, connect the printer to PC using a USB cable, then download and run the firmware update utility from here. If you don't have a printer USB cable, you can use the steps available here to update the printer firmware directly from the printer using the printer control panel display.
