I downloaded the HP Print Service Plug in for my android phone and bought an OTG cable. But when I connect it to my HP P1005 printer and open the app it can't find my printer.
The weird thing is when I try to print an email or a pdf it shows my printer but the name is grey and I can not select it. Also when I first opened the program and connected it I got a pop up message asking if I would like to use my printer with the app.
The P1005 is not on the list on the list of printers that won't work with OTG so how do I make it work?

Hi,
The printer is not supported for USB OTG printing:
The list includes models generally supported by the HP Print Service Plugin, but no USB OTG connection, your printer does not support any such at all and therefore not included in the list.
Your printer does not support any such option and cannot be used to prong from a mobile device, the HP Print Service Plugin or any Android printing solution does not support your printer:

That is super disappointing. The page that was linked is pretty clear. It says
Most HP printers with a USB port support printing from a USB OTG. Consult the following list for HP printers that do not support printing from a USB OTG cable:
My printer is not on that list so it seemed safe for me to assume I could buy an OTG cable and it would work. Perhaps HP needs to improve their documentation.
