Hi @Ann285
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here’s a quick guide to help you get the networking functionality working again:
1. Check Printer’s Network Connection
- Check Wi-Fi Status:
- On the printer’s control panel, look for a Wi-Fi icon. If the icon is solid or connected, your printer should be on the network.
- If the Wi-Fi icon is flashing or absent, the printer is not connected to the network.
- Reboot Router and Printer:
- Power off your printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds.
- Restart your router to ensure there are no issues with the Wi-Fi network.
- Plug the printer back in and power it on.
2. Reconfigure Printer’s Wi-Fi Connection
Using the Printer’s Control Panel:
- On the printer's control panel, go to the Wi-Fi setup menu.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard or Network Setup (the exact option may vary depending on the model).
- The printer will search for available networks. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password (make sure you enter it correctly, paying attention to case sensitivity).
- Once connected, the printer should display a confirmation message.
Using the HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
- Open the app and select Add Printer. The app should guide you through setting up the network connection again.
3. Check Printer’s IP Address
- Print a Network Configuration Page:
- Go to Settings > Wireless > Print Network Configuration Page (or similar, depending on the model).
- This page will show the IP address assigned to your printer.
- Verify the IP Address:
- Ensure the printer’s IP address is within the same range as your router’s. For example, if your router’s IP range is 192.168.1.x, the printer should have an IP like 192.168.1.100 or similar.
4. Reinstall or Update Printer Drivers
- Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website and search for your HP Smart Tank 670 model.
- Download the latest drivers for your printer and install them.
- If you're using the HP Smart app, check if any updates are available and install them.
5. Disable Antivirus/Firewall Temporarily
- Temporarily Disable Antivirus/Firewall:
- Disable your antivirus and firewall temporarily and test if the printer can connect to the network. If it works, you may need to configure your antivirus/firewall to allow the printer.
6. Reset Network Settings on the Printer
- Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Network Setup or Wireless Settings.
- Look for an option like Restore Network Defaults or Reset Wireless Settings.
- Confirm the reset, then reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi using the setup steps above.
7. Check for Firmware Update, click here
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
