Hi

I have a printer HP PHOTOSMART PREMIUM C309 printer

It storks fine - of course, not AirPrint.

I have installed the app HP SMART on my iPad Pro (Today September 2025)

If finds my printer can print - that’s great… as a start.

But I am missing the option recto verso, since the printer is built with a recto-verso setup.

Is there anything somewhere please?

Thank you

@Vigostar, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Using Duplex Printing with HP Photosmart Premium C309!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The HP Photosmart Premium C309 printer does support duplex (recto verso) printing. However, the HP Smart app may not have the option available through its interface. Here are a few steps you can take to enable duplex printing:

Check Printer Settings on Your Device:

  • On a computer, ensure that the duplex printing option is enabled in the printer settings. This is crucial as the HP Smart app may default to the settings configured on your computer.
  • Navigate to the print preferences or properties for your printer, usually accessible through the print dialog or printer management settings on your computer. Look for options related to "Print on Both Sides" or "Duplex Printing."

HP Smart App Workaround:

  • As a workaround, you might consider initially setting up the printer settings on a computer, ensuring that duplex is enabled, and then printing via the HP Smart app again from your iPad to see if it now recognizes the duplex capability.

Use Another App or Utility:

  • You can try installing another app or print utility on your iPad that offers more extensive controls over print settings, including duplex options.

Firmware and App Updates:

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date and that the HP Smart app is updated to its latest version, as updates may introduce new features or bug fixes that address your issue.

Documentation and User Manuals:

  • Refer to the printer’s user manual for specific instructions on enabling duplex printing. Sometimes, certain settings need to be configured directly on the printer's control panel.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
