I have been using the HP Smart app for scanning documents on my Mac since August without a problem, always loaded very quickly. This week, out of nowhere, it is taking a while for the pages to load. After I click on scan the wheel is spinning which feels like forever and then when I click on scan it takes a while to start scanning as well. I have restarted my Mac, updated it last night, uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it; and yet it still gives me the spinning wheel. 😞 someone please help!

@Monika26, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I see that the HP Smart app is slow while scanning. Have you tried printing and check if the issue persists?

Scanning pictures in high resolution may take longer than scanning documents.

 

Make sure the HP Smart app is up to date. Check for updates in the App Store.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

 

Use the HP Easy Scan app from the App Store and check if it works fine while scanning.
