HP Smart Web site, red-orange dot next to printer name in My Printers

There is a new-ish HP Smart web site (hpsmart.com) that lets you register your printer. There is a red-orange dot to the left of my HP OfficeJet 8610. No explanation of what this means. It is possible to print by sending a file to ...@hpeprint.com.

Assuming this indicator means something is wrong, how to fix, and what functions do not work?
