My HP Smart app will no longer print. It used to work fine. Now the printer is selected and online, the print button is blue (not greyed out), but nothing happens when I push it. I can navigate he rest of the app ok and the phone’s alternate “print” option in the share function works, so it’s not a connectivity issue. I’ve tried deleting & reloading the app, turning devices off & on again. I’m stumped!

Hi @AmberA8010,
I'd like to help!
Are you able to make copies using the printer?
If yes, then update ios and printer-
To update the iOS device, refer to this document - Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Try Printing with Apple AirPrint (iOS)
Print from your Apple device
Print documents, photos, and webpages using AirPrint.
-
Make sure the printer is turned on, ink cartridges are installed, and plain paper is loaded in the main tray.
-
Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon
or
.
-
Tap Print or the Print icon
to open Printer Options.
-
Tap Select Printer to select your printer.
-
Change any of the following print job settings. Available settings vary depending on the app you are printing from, the print job type, and your printer.
-
Paper: Make any paper size changes on the printer. AirPrint automatically detects the paper size loaded in the printer or the size selected on the printer control panel. If the detected size is different than the paper in the tray, an error might display asking to confirm the size.
-
Number of copies: Select how many copies you want to print.
-
Black & White: Select to print in grayscale. This option only displays for color printers.
-
Double-sided printing: Print on both sides of the paper for certain file types.
-
Page range: Select specific pages within a document or webpage to print.
-
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for your time in responding 🙏 It’s not quite resolved but I can work around it. The copier definitely works and AirPrint works from my phone, and now printing directly from the HP Smart App on my phone works (I don’t think this was working either prior to updating iOS) but choosing “print with HP Smart” from the “share” option still doesn’t work. I’ll just use AirPrint I guess! Thank you anyway, much appreciated.

I am glad that we were able to find a workaround.
Try updating your phone and then try using the feature-
