I’ve used the HP Smart app for years. Mostly for scanning, printing & faxing using my iPad. After Apple did their last iOS update it made my iPad Air essentially obsolete. Unfortunately HP supported them by making the HP Smart app only functional on updated devices. How am I suppose to scan documents to save to my mobile using my printer now? Taking a picture as a scan isn’t as detailed or accurate as when it’s done on the printer. Recommendations? Please don’t point out the fact that my device isn’t compatible anymore. I already know that. Only suggest solutions you know for sure work. Not info you found that you think might guide me. Trust me, I already found it too. I need actual proven solutions. Thanks everyone!

Hi,
To use the HP Smart app, your iOS version must be 13 or later, else the app is not compatible and cannot be used in any way..
You may use Webscan instead to scan from the EWS page of your printer as a workaround, please see the 'Scan with an HP printer (Chromebooks) > Scan with Webscan (Chromebooks)' section below with detailed information about using Webscan, this can be used on your mobile browser too with no issues.
You may also try the 3rd party Vuescan mobile app which seems to support your printer:
