HP Smart Tank Plus 570
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to use HP Smart to print over Wi-Fi to an HP Smart Tank Plus 570 from an HP Pavilion PC. I have an HP account (the one I am logged to on this board). After I install the HP Smart App, it finds my printer on the network but before it will allow me to do anything, it insists I log into my HP account. However, when I log into my HP account, it hangs forever saying "Thanks for waiting". I tried deleting the app and re-installing it but the behaviour has not changed.

So it looks likely that HP Smart just doesn't work - are there other ways to use this printer over Wi-Fi?

did you get a resolution?  I am having same issue with a OfficeJet Pro 9018e

In my case, I had certain app data directories with the hidden property set and this was stopping the HP Smart  app from working. I recommend you check if you have any relevant directories with that attribute checked and if so turn the attribute off.

Can you detail that a bit more please?  HP Smart app used to work on my Windows 10 laptop, but no longer will do so despite uninstalling/reinstalling, yet it works fine on my wife's Windows 10 laptop.

If you navigate to c:\users\"your_user" and select properties and find that "hidden" is selected then various things don't work including HPSmart. If you switch the hidden selection off I found various anomalies stopped happening and HPSmart worked again.
