Hi @lmyers77

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 is showing a "Device has been paused" message on your iPhone, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages.

2. Restart the Printer

  • Power off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then power it back on.

3. Check the HP Smart App

  • Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone.
  • If the printer is paused, you might see an option to resume printing. Tap it to unpause the printer.

4. Check Printer Queue

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone and make sure your printer is connected.
  • Open the HP Smart app, tap on the printer, and check for any pending print jobs. Clear the queue if needed.

5. Update HP Smart App

  • Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed. Update it if necessary.

6. Reinstall the Printer

  • In the HP Smart app, you can try removing the printer and then adding it back again:
    • Tap on the printer, then select Remove Printer.
    • Follow the prompts to add it back.

7. Check Network Connection

  • Ensure that your printer and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If the printer is connected to a different network, it may cause issues.

8. Reset Network Settings

  • If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer’s network settings. Check the printer’s manual for instructions on how to do this.

If the problem persists, feel free to reach out for more help!

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
