Hi @Kaylann,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Plus 4120 All-in-One Printer is not connecting to Wi-Fi, here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Reset Printer Network Settings
Reset the printer's network settings to ensure there are no old or incorrect settings causing the issue:
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button for 3 seconds until the Wireless light blinks. This resets the network settings.
2. Check Wi-Fi Compatibility
- Ensure your printer is trying to connect to a 2.4 GHz network, as most HP printers don't support 5 GHz bands.
3. Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)
Use the HP Smart app to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi:
- Download and open the HP Smart app on your device.
- Ensure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to connect to.
- Tap the Add Printer button and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If prompted, use the Wi-Fi Direct method:
- Press the Information button on the printer to print a page with Wi-Fi Direct details.
- Use the password on that page to connect your computer or phone to the printer's network.
4. Ensure Printer is in Setup Mode
The printer should be in Setup Mode during the initial Wi-Fi connection:
- After resetting network settings, the Wi-Fi light should blink blue.
- If it doesn't blink, press the Wireless button to enable it.
5. Check Router and Network HP printers - Wi-Fi connection is lost after router or network settings change
- Restart your router: Turn it off for 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Ensure the printer and the router are within 3-5 feet during setup.
6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Use the HP Smart app or download the latest firmware from the HP Support website.
7. Advanced Troubleshooting
- Disable MAC address filtering on your router (if enabled).
- Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus on your computer during setup.
Troubleshoot a Wi-Fi connection to an HP printer
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
