Just got a new Spectrum router that uses WPA and WPA2 security...Although the printer sees the network, the passphrase is not working. I have tried a number of things - changed the channel to 11 and 1, changed the security to WPA TPIK, reset to factory settings to clear it but still doesn't connect. I have also tried another printer an HP5520 with same result. I have a HP7200 series that connected without any issue. Any help would be appreciated. Both printers worked fine on old router.

In the router, temporarily turn off and disable all security for your SSID. Now try to connect to your unsecured SSID. Are you successful?
If yes, go back and add WPA2-AES with password on your SSID. Can you connect now?

I just changed to Spectrum internet and my HP Officejet pro 8500 will not connect. After multiple conversations with Spectrum, troubleshooting with HP who changed router settings to channel 11 and tried a couple of other failed setting adjustments, HP technician advised that it is a common issue that HP printers are not compatible with Spectrum routers. We have a Sagemcom router with a separate modum. Spectrum recommended I go to the store to request a new router/modem combination, but could not advise which routers have been found to be compatible with HP Printers. Trial and Error is the recommended solution.
