My HP 8710 will not air print from my I phone

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 prints fine from HP Smart but won’t AirPrint from your iPhone, here’s what I would request you to try.

Why AirPrint Fails

  • The printer and iPhone are not on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • AirPrint is disabled or blocked by router settings.
  • Printer firmware or iOS needs an update.


Fixes

1. Check Network

  • Ensure your printer and iPhone are connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Avoid guest networks or VPNs.


2. Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer, router, and iPhone.


3. Update Printer Firmware

  • On the printer panel: 
    • Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
  • Or download from HP Drivers & Downloads.


4. Enable AirPrint

  • On the printer: 
    • Setup > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > AirPrint → Turn On.


5. Test AirPrint

  • On iPhone: 
    • Open the document → Tap SharePrint → Select your HP printer.
  • If the printer doesn’t appear, check that Bonjour is enabled on your router.
