hp tango

Hi there I have a HP tango and while I have had it it has been great more so with the HP instantink. BUT I have been wanting to make my own postcards so I have printed out my photos on the 6x4 glossy photo paper..all fine but when I turn it around so I can print the postcard site..with the lines to write and the stamp rectangle in the corner....it refuses to print and just pushes it through the machine.

when I say refuses it has managed it 2 times though on those occasions I selected the wrong setting and the postcard parts were not inline.

I thought maybe because the glossy side is down the rollers are not able to feed it right to print...but it did it twice as a fluke. I tried also putting some 6x4 plain paper behind see if it fed it through better but still the same.

its really a pain in the backside

any ideas how this could work or is it just not possible with this machine

@marklola82, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • What is the Operating System installed on the computer?
  • Have you tried a different photo paper?
  • Does the photo paper meet the paper-handling specifications of the printer? Product Specifications for the HP Tango (2RY54A) refer for help.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

hi there, it is windows 10 64bit

yes I have tried a few types they all print ok on the glossy side but for postcards you print what ever picture you want on the glossy side then turn it around so it prints on the matte site which does not work

I have checked the handling specifications and all seems right other than on here it says 75 g/m² I presume that is just for normal plain paper and not photo paper as no photo paper is 75 g/m² it is all more, besides if it prints on the glossy side it must mean the weight is ok

I tried my older big Epson printer/scanner and that also can not seem to feed the paper through so I can print on the matte side of the glossy card so it looks like me doing postcards is out the window, I have tried taping normal paper at the back so the glossy side was not down on the rollers but still nothing

@marklola82

Since you have tried different paper types and printers from other brands giving you the same result, it clearly says that printing on the matte side of the glossy sheet is not a feasible option.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
