Hi @GanzSchoen,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w does not support Wi-Fi Direct, which means you can't enable Wi-Fi Direct on this model. Wi-Fi Direct is a feature found on newer HP printers, allowing them to connect directly to other Wi-Fi devices without needing a router.

For the HP P1102w, you can use the following options to connect to your printer wirelessly:

Wireless Network Setup:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Follow the instructions in the app to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network. You’ll need the network’s SSID (name) and password.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):

  • If your router supports WPS, you can use this method to connect the printer to your network without needing to enter the network password manually.
  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the printer (you might need to check the printer's manual for exact steps).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
