How can I select multiple photos and print more than one per page

I just want to select multiple photos to print.  This seems like a basic task that most people would want to have the option to do.

Many printers can print multiple photos on one sheet of paper using an appropriate application  or software.

For example,

A supported version of Windows, an installed application or printer software on a supported printer can scan or print multiple photos on a single sheet of paper or page.
