Product: OfficeJet Pro 8710
Operating System: iOS 12 - 12.0.1

Trying to setup HP Smart on my iphone. Tried to use "Set Up a New Printer" Can't find HP-Setup in Wi-Fi network list in setup but there is a "Direct-3B-HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Wi-Fi" network. I try to use that and then asked for a password. I never set up a password or was asked to during installation. So how do I reset the password without knowing it. How do I connect using HP Smart. Also tried to connect using IP address but that failed to. Thanks for any assistance.

Looks like you are trying to use Direct printing. Please go next to the printer and look at it Control panel, it should show a number, please enter that number to your phone and your phone will remember it.

Thanks for your reply but not sure what number you  mean. Attached is photo of Control Panel for the printer. Is it HP439F39? Where do I enter it on my iphone?HP 8710 Control Panel.jpg
