HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to make some admin updates to my HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a printer and I am unable to login via a browser using:  192.168.1.xxx/#hId-dateTimePage ....  I am constantly being prompted to login...

You have to logon before accessing this page

I do not remember my login credentials for this website.  I have been attempting to use my HPConnect login and my ePrint login....   BOTH are failures.  IS there any way that I can reset my login for my HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a printer  OR. can I simply uninstall my printer and reinstall to reset everything?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly...

@xquizitt1,

Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post regarding issues with the printer’s password to connect it to the network. Your credentials are not accepted. I will be delighted to assist you here. Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you change the router or the network or your ISP?
  • Are you able to access the printer's control panel?

For now, try these steps:

  • Please restore network defaults on the printer from this user guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03026243  refer to page 148 on how to do it.
  • Then follow the all the recommended steps from this wireless set up document http://hp.care/2x651gG  to connect to the network based on your operating system. (HP OfficeJet 8600 Printers - Wireless Printer Setup (Windows)
  • You could also install it as a USB printer and later change it to a wireless one by following the recommended steps from this link: http://hp.care/2DBVhOn (HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection)
  • Now check if gets resolved.

If the problem continues, I will send you a private message to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.

Please keep checking your forum private message and that will do the trick for you. Please check your forum private message box next to the bell notification icon on the upper right-hand corner for a private message from me for further assistance.

Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response.  Please note that I am not overloading you with steps but instead, giving you more information to work with. We are as eager as you are to get the issue fixed. I request you to perform all these steps till the issue is fixed.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

You shouldn't need to reset thje printer.  It sounds to me like you are somewhat confused.  The username/password for the PRINTER differ from those for any website or app.  If you did not change them, the default username is admin, I think.  What the default password is I forget, but there may be none, so try admin with no password.  It can't hurt.
