I just received my 2600 Deskjet 3-in-one printer and when it updated, it printed a report. I was able to stop it after a page and a half, but how do I keep it from printing and wasting ink every time?

Thanks in advance!

A warm welcome to HP Community!

If auto update is enabled on your printer, then the printer will automatically download and install the update without your intervention and will print a confirmation report indicating that printer firmware has been updated. Disabling automatic updates should stop the printer from printing a confirmation report after the printer firmware update. You may use the following steps to disable automatic updates:

1.) Press the Wireless button and Information button (i) at the same time to print the network configuration page. Locate the printer IP address from the network configuration page

2.) Open a web browser on your Mac, type the IP address into the Internet browser address line, and then press Enter to open the printer EWS.

Example of an IP address entered into the Chrome address bar

3.) Click Web Services and disable Product updates.

Let me know how it goes!
