Hi @LouiseCW,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are getting a 'printer busy' error message while printing from your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer.
This issue could occur if the printer is offline
Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.
And here's the step by step guide for you in the links below depending on the operating system installed on the computer:
1. Printer is Offline (Windows)
2. 'Printer Offline' or 'Printer Not Responding' Message (Mac)
Also, let us know the operating system installed on your computer.
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

Yeah, so the problem could have been Print Jobs Stuck in the Queue, which need deleting. Find that in the HP Printer Assistant > "See what's printing." Delete any print jobs showing. This is the easiest method.
HP Printer Assistant is part of this printer's software. To find the printer assistant (Windows): click on Start (the windows button in lower left corner), scroll to HP, scroll to "HP Envy 5660 series," (which has a pic of the printer). Left click to open the PA.
Some advise clearing the "print spooling service see below link. Your are welcome to try all that instead of the same procedure in printer assistant.
