Hello everyone. I have connected this printer wirelessly for many years with my Windows 10 desktop. Recently i bought the Surface Pro 11 edition which runs Windows 11 and i installed all the necessary drivers and software like Hp smart. I connect the printer wirelessly with status idle. From Hp smart i can see the printer is connected, i can see the ink levels and i can use the quality tools and print test page. But when i try to print anything else from my pc like word, exel, pictures etc, documents stack in queue. At the same time, my old pc is still connected wirelessly with the printer and its working just fine.
What i did..
I reset my printer
I reset my windows in case i have corrupted files
I reinstall the drivers and software
I run Windows troubleshooting
I run the print and scan doctor from HP website
I run diagnose & fix through HP smart software (asking for username and password and I don't know where to find them)
I stop/start the printer spool
I run the Windows update for any related update
And finally, i contacted Microsoft to give me a hand in this case. The Microsoft agent worked on my Surface Pro 11 through the quick assist for 2 hours and finally, he told me that i had to download again the Windows 11 for a fresh start (i did it again anyway).
I do not know what i have to do next. I have two computers in the same office, and one of them is useless because i cant print from it.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Mr_Tpat ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've done a thorough job troubleshooting so far. Here are a few more things you can try to resolve the printing issue with your HP OfficeJet 6950 on your Surface Pro 11:
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer is not in "Paused" or "Use Printer Offline" mode. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, click on Open queue, and make sure it’s set to Use Printer Online.
Set Default Printer:
- Make sure your HP OfficeJet 6950 is set as the default printer on your Surface Pro 11. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Manage. Then click on Set as default.
Check Printer Port Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your HP OfficeJet 6950, and select Printer properties. Under the Ports tab, ensure that the correct port is selected (usually something like HP Smart Port or WSD Port for network printers).
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager, find your printer under Printers, right-click, and select Update driver. You can also visit HP’s website and download the latest drivers for your printer model, ensuring compatibility with Windows 11.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Sometimes, additional updates or patches for Windows 11 might help resolve printer issues. Check Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update for any pending updates.
Clear Print Queue:
- Clear any stuck documents in the print queue. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what's printing. Cancel all documents in the queue.
HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Since you've used this tool already, try running it again to ensure no steps were missed. Make sure it’s the latest version.
Network Printer Settings:
- Make sure both your Surface Pro 11 and your printer are on the same network. Check your router’s settings to ensure there are no IP conflicts or network issues.
Test Print from Another Application:
- Try printing from different applications (like Notepad) to see if the issue is application-specific.
Add Printer Manually:
- Remove the printer from Printers & scanners, then add it again manually using Add a printer or scanner and select your printer from the list.
Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet 6950 All-in-One Printer series User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for your reply.
I assure you all those steps you mentioned, I did it before i contacted the community.
The only step i didn't finish is the print and scan doctor because i need a username and password which i can't find.

Well. Hello again...
I assure you nothing from the above helped me find a solution but I didn't stop trying and .....
I FOUND THE SOLUTION
I remove the printer from my devices and printers tab in Windows settings.
I tried to add the printer manually.
I select Add new device manually > My printer is a little older. Help me find it > then the wifi printer shows up in a new task. I select the printer and then next. > Then I had to select the correct driver and I chose the HP smart universal printing (v2.07.2).
Thats it!
Now the printer is working fine through WIFI.
