How do I connect my Apple iPad to my hp envy 6000 series printer? I have gone into Wi-Fi on my iPad and selected my network which then asks me for my Direct-54-HP ENVY 6000 series password. Which I haven’t got.
can anyone help me with this problem please?

Welcome to the HP Community.
The reference to "Direct-54-HP ENVY 6000" indicates that the Wireless connection is trying to use "Wi-Fi Direct".
Wi-Fi Direct is an ad-hoc connection that uses the printer's wireless radio to connect directly to the device (usually a computer). It is a wireless connection without the use of a network router.
If you are deliberately using Wi-Fi Direct, then
Start here:
Wireless printing center > Printer Setup > Wi-Fi Direct
Find out how to print the Wi-Fi Direct password
Open User Guide
Go to Page 29 and read the Tip section
"To find the Wi-Fi Direct name and password, press the "I"Information button)to print a printer information page"
