I have an HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer. Some time ago I messed up changing the password on the printer and have no idea what it could be as a result. I have tried to reset it. I tried resetting the printer to default through the printer control panel as I was told this would reset the login to its factory preset. I was told that the default for this printer for login would be username: admin, Password: admin. I was told wrong on all counts. I still cannot use the web access feature on the printer because I can't log in as an admin.
I've seen several posts where others were told the same thing and reported failure.
What is my next option?

Hi @1FrustratedUsr
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing EWS printer password.
If you are prompted for additional credentials when accessing the printer homepage, check for a PIN on the printer UPC sticker or contact the printer administrator for the password.
1. On the credential prompt, enter admin (default) for the username.
2. Locate the PIN on the printer UPC sticker found on either the back of the printer or inside the cartridge access area, and then enter it.
3.If a PIN is not listed on the sticker or the sticker is missing, contact the printer administrator for the PIN or password.
You can find the above steps below "Frequently asked questions (FAQs)" under "Where can I find the EWS username and password or PIN?" on this link.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
