  • I can not access my printer settings thru the embedded web server.  I don't believe I set the ID & password but could have a while back.   I did a semi-final reset and this did not change access online.   I tried using admin as the ID and my password to no avail.   Help?

Hi @1knappk1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing difficulty accessing the embedded web server (EWS) for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 printer. The EWS is a useful tool for managing printer settings and configurations via a web browser, but issues with access credentials can indeed hinder this process. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Full Reset: You mentioned performing a semi-final reset, but it may be necessary to perform a full factory reset on the printer to clear all settings, including the EWS password.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the instructions to assist you better.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Default Credentials: After a reset, if the printer's EWS asks for a username and password, the default credentials are typically something simple. You've tried "admin" as the username, which is common; the default password can often be 'admin', 'password', or left blank. Since these did not work in your case, a full reset might be necessary to restore these defaults.

HP Smart App: If you haven't already, try using the HP Smart app (available for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android). This app might allow you to access and modify some settings without needing to go through the EWS directly. It could also help in resetting the printer or EWS password

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
