.Hi @lathon1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your Samsung tablet can't find your HP printer after updating your Wi-Fi router, here are steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check Wi-Fi Connectivity

Ensure Printer and Tablet are on the Same Network: Confirm that both your HP printer and Samsung tablet are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, routers create multiple networks (e.g., 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), so ensure both devices are on the same band.

Restart Devices: Restart your printer, router, and tablet. Sometimes a fresh connection can resolve network issues.

2. Verify Printer Network Settings

Printer’s Network Status: Print a network configuration page from your printer to ensure it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. This option is usually available through the printer’s control panel or settings menu.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi: If the printer is not connected to the correct network, you may need to reconnect it. Follow the printer's manual to connect it to your Wi-Fi network again.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Go to the HP support website, find your printer model, and check for any available firmware updates.

4. Check HP Print Service Plugin

Reinstall Plugin: On your Samsung tablet, go to Settings > Apps > HP Print Service Plugin, and try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Enable Plugin: Ensure the HP Print Service Plugin is enabled and properly set up. Go to Settings > Connected Devices > Printing > HP Print Service Plugin, and make sure it's activated.

5. Use HP Smart App

Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your tablet.

Add Printer: In the HP Smart app, tap the + icon to add a new printer. Follow the prompts to detect and connect to your printer. The app should be able to find your printer if both are on the same network.

Check for App Updates: Make sure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version. Update it through the Google Play Store if needed.

6. Ensure Printer Visibility

  • Printer’s Wireless Settings: Ensure that the wireless functionality of your printer is enabled and that it’s not set to a hidden network or in a mode that prevents it from being detected.

7. Check Router Settings

Router Configuration: Sometimes, router settings can block new devices. Check your router’s settings to ensure it’s not restricting the printer or tablet.

Network Isolation: Ensure that network isolation is not enabled on your router, which can prevent devices on the same network from communicating with each other.

8. Use IP Address for Printing

Find Printer IP Address: Print a network configuration page from your printer to find its IP address.

Manually Add Printer: On your tablet, open the HP Smart app, go to Add Printer and select Enter IP Address to manually add your printer using its IP address.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
