Hi @Slade12,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble connecting your HP 4100 series printer to a Starlink router, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Ensure Printer and Router Compatibility

  • Ensure that your HP 4100 series printer supports the Wi-Fi band used by the Starlink router (usually 2.4GHz). Starlink routers may operate on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, but many printers only support 2.4GHz.

Use the HP Smart App for Setup

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
  • Ensure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Starlink router.
  • Use the HP Smart app to add the printer to your network. It will guide you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Manually Connect Using Printer Control Panel

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Starlink Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Check Wi-Fi Settings

  • Make sure the Starlink router’s Wi-Fi settings are compatible with your printer. Ensure the 2.4GHz band is enabled.
  • If your printer cannot connect to the 5GHz band, you may need to ensure that the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks are either combined with the same SSID or have separate SSIDs. If they are combined, your router should automatically connect the printer to the 2.4GHz band.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. This can be done through the HP Smart app or by visiting HP’s support website.

Power Cycle the Printer and Router

  • Turn off both the printer and the Starlink router.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then power them back on and try connecting again.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset the network settings on the printer to factory defaults and try reconnecting.
    • On the printer control panel, find the network settings, then select Restore Network Defaults.

Move Printer Closer to Router

  • Make sure the printer is within a reasonable range of the Starlink router to ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
