I understand that you're unable to print using your iPhone to your HP OfficeJet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer as it asks for a password. I'll be glad to help.

Let me know if you're using the Wi-Fi Direct to connect to your HP printer wirelessly. In Wi-Fi direct, you can connect to the printer wirelessly without using a router. In case you're using Wi-Fi Direct, you choose the Wi-Fi Direct name from the list of wireless networks shown such as DIRECT-**- HP Officejet-5 40 (where ** are the unique characters to identify your printer).

The following steps will help you locate the password:

NOTE: Most fo the times, the default password for Wi-Fi Direct is 12345678.

However, if you;re printer is connected to a wireless network and not Wi-Fi Direct, then you can locate the password for the wireless connectivity by following the steps from this HP document:
