HP DeskJet 2622 All-in-One Printer

I have a deskjet 2622 my stepdaughter sent me a  work assignment  and I tried to print the document and photos in color from my smartphone. But there was no option to print the document in color, only black and white. I have the color ink installed. I need help.

If your HP DeskJet 2622 All-in-One Printer is not providing an option to print in color despite having color ink installed, here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

 

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer is set to print in color. When printing from your smartphone, look for a “Print” or “Settings” option in the print dialog box.
  • In the print settings, ensure that the “Print in Grayscale” or “Black & White” option is unchecked.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
  • Updated firmware can fix bugs or issues related to printing options.

Use the Correct App:

  • If you are using a specific app to print (e.g., HP Smart, Photos), make sure it’s updated to the latest version.
  • Some apps may have limited printing options; try printing directly from another app, such as the Photos app, to see if the color option appears.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Make sure that the color ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink. Even if the cartridge is installed, low ink levels may affect color printing.
  • You can check ink levels via the HP Smart app or by printing a test page.

Restart the Printer and Smartphone:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Restart your smartphone as well. This can help refresh the connection between your smartphone and the printer.

Tips:

  • Try Printing from a Computer: If possible, try printing the same document from a computer to see if the color option is available there.
