My printer is requiring a password in order for me to print wirelessly from my phone. I've tried the rooter password, the default 12345678 and any of my other passwords and nothing works. Is there any way to figure out out? All my other devices print fine to it.
Thanks,
Jg

Hi @Jg555,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet M139 printer is asking for a password to connect wirelessly, it's likely referring to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct password. Here's how you can find or reset it.
Check the Printer Control Panel: Look on the printer's control panel for any Wi-Fi Direct settings or options. You might find the password displayed there or an option to reset it.
Reset Wi-Fi Direct Settings: If you can't find the password, you can reset the Wi-Fi Direct settings on the printer. Here’s a general method:
- Press the Wireless button or go to the Setup menu on the printer’s control panel.
- Navigate to Wi-Fi Direct or Wireless Direct settings.
- Select Reset or Restore Defaults.
Print Network Configuration Page: Some printers allow you to print a network configuration page that includes the Wi-Fi Direct password. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to print this page.
Use the HP Smart App: If you have the HP Smart App installed on your phone, you can manage your printer settings from there. It might help you find or reset the Wi-Fi Direct password.
Default Password: If none of the above methods work, and if your printer has a default Wi-Fi Direct password like "12345678," try entering that after resetting the Wi-Fi Direct settings.
Manual or Online Resources: Refer to your printer’s manual or visit the HP support website for specific instructions on managing Wi-Fi Direct settings and passwords.
By resetting the Wi-Fi Direct settings or finding the password through one of these methods, you should be able to connect your new phone to print wirelessly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
