Hi,
I am connecting my HP DESKJECT 2130 with Macbook (OS: Ventura 13.0) via USB cable and the printer shows up in the list of added printers.
When I give a print command, the printing job shows up in printing queue for 2 seconds and then disappears, while the printer doesn't print anything.
- I have already tried removing this printer and re-adding, still doesn't work.
- I have downloaded n installed HP Easy Start application on Macbook and when I run this, it automatically detected the printer and on continuing, it lands me to window "Install: Download & install the recommended software for your HP product", after a minute of searching it finally says:
"We were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product. Please go to the HP website & search for product solutions there."
Need help to sort this out please. Is Mac OS 13.0 not compatible with this printer model?

Hi @Rob357
Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing scanning issues with your HP DeskJet 2130 All-In-One Printer wherein it will not scan to your Mac Ventura 13.0 computer.
I suggest that you try scanning using Apple Image capture by following the steps listed below:
1. Place the document or photo printed side down on the scanner glass, and then close the scanner lid.
2. Open Finder, click Go in the top menu bar, click Applications, and then double-click Image Capture.
3. Click your printer name in the Devices or Shared list.
Note: If a Software for this device is not installed message displays after you select your printer, click Install, and then follow the instructions to complete the installation.
4. Click Show Details at the bottom of the screen. A preview of the scan displays where you may change the scan settings.
Note: To save multiple page documents or multiple images into a single file, select the PDF or TIFF format, and then select the box next to Combine into a single document.
5. Click Scan.
Let me know if this helps and have a nice day ahead.

Hi @Rob357,
Thank you for replying to us.
Please follow the steps listed below to reset printing systems and then add the printer.
1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
2. Click Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax.
3. Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.
4. Click Reset or OK.
Note: Once you click on reset any other printer added to this computer will also get deleted and needs to be added again.
5. If prompted, type your username and password, and then click OK. The printing system resets.
6. Turn off the printer, wait 5 seconds, and then turn on the printer.
7. Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
8. In the Printers window on the Mac, click the Add button.
9. Select your printer from the list, and then click Add.
It might take a few seconds before your printer displays in the Printers list.

Nope, doesnt work still.
By re-adding this printer, what should I select?
1) Use Generic PCL Printer?
2) Select software > HP Deskjet Series?
I tried selecting both these options, but still exactly same issue happens. ie. the printing file job goes to printing queue and disappears from queue within 2 seconds and nothing happens - no error message on printer, no print of file.
Again saying: Mac Ventura OS v 13 - does it work with HP deskjet 2130?
Can you test this at your end? (Same mac version and same printer version) and then share results?

Hi @madrover,
Glad to hear this is working for you now.
I tried installing Easy Start (from https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-2130-all-in-one-printer-series/7174550?s...
and I'm stuck on this "SWHelper" pop-up, which is asking me some password and I'm unsure what password is this, I have tried both my apple account, mac login, and hp printer account passwords, only to find none of these work. (see attached screenshot)
I tried reading the steps mentioned in these threads: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Is-SWHelper-part-of-the-HP-software-pac...
But, I cannot make changes to security settings (for allowing apps to be downloaded from app store). This is my company-owned laptop and the IT admin doesn't let me install any unauthorised softwares.
Any way forward please?
