HP 9018

Hi, I just purchased a HP Printer 9018 from Costco. I set it up O.K., but I want to know if there is a sleep function on it?

Yes, and it is enabled by default.

 

If your printer does not enter into sleep mode, it is likely related to the fax line or its connection.

 

Please unplug any phone cable from the printer and check if it then enters into sleep in 5 minutes.

 

Please let me know the results, also let me know what phone line service type you use and how the cable are connected from both ends (both the printer port and also describe where it is connected  in the other side (e.g a wall phone socket, a dsl micro filter, a modem, etc.)

Hi Shlomi,

 

Thank you for your reply. It does go into sleep mode after 5 minutes with the screen going blank. I read where it is supposed to go into shutdown mode after 8 hours, but my white power light and solid blue wi fi light stays on. after several hours Does it not shutdown due to my wi fi connection? The phone line is not connected.

Indeed Tom,

HP Auto Shutdown is disables whenever the printer is connected to fax or to a wireless network and go into sleep by design, else you would need to power on the printer to print.
