LaserJet M1120 MFP: printing via USB OTG

Hi, Dear friends,

I have HP LaserJet M1120 MFP.

With Windows it works fine.

But I have some problems when I try to print from smartphone with Android 7.0 NRD90M.

When I try to print, the “USB HP LaserJet M1120 MFP” exists in the list but is disabled.

When I try to add printer and choose “direct plug in” in the HP Print Server, the list of printers is empty.

I have read “HP Printers - Printing with a USB OTG Cable (Android)” from HP Knowledge Base and have tried everything.

HP LaserJet M1120 MFP does not exist in the “HP printers that do not support printing from a USB OTG cable”.  

Printer is fine, USB cable is fine, OTG adapter is fine.

What should I do?

Hi,

The HP LaseerjetM1120 is not supported by the HP Print Service Plugin and therefore does not support USB OTG printing.

You may find any printer supported by the HP Print Service Plugin below, the M1120 printer is not listed as a such:

I have read the 'What if my printer is not listed in this document?'.
It says:

“If your printer is not listed here, then it most likely is not compatible with printing from a mobile device. To print from a mobile device, consider upgrading to a newer printer.”

But why does third-rate program can print out to HP LaserJet M1120 MFP but Your Brand HP Print Service Plugin does not?

Is list “HP printers that do not support printing from a USB OTG cable” from “HP Printers - Printing with a USB OTG Cable (Android)” is incorrect?

Hi Alexander,

Any printer who uses the Host-Based or PCLmS print languages are more limited and does not support USB OTG printing, such printers are more limited and use the driver only to process a print job with.

The M1120n printer uses the Host-Based print language and as a such is more limited and not supported for a such.

"to process a print job" is exactly what I need and what does not I get from HP Print Server.
How can program "PrinterShare" do what must do HP Print Server?

Is list “HP printers that do not support printing from a USB OTG cable” from HP Knowledge Base article “HP Printers - Printing with a USB OTG Cable (Android)” incorrect?
