HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe Printer

I have a router connected to a modem and Xfinity internet. My PC is connected via ethernet to the modem. I set up my LaserJet a few months ago by connecting it via USB to my PC and connecting to the internet via WiFi. All was great for a bit, but suddenly it started flashed the yellow '!' on the console and refuses to print.

It tells me it can't print unless it's connected to the internet, despite saying that it's connected to the router with an excellent signal strength. I've tried unplugging modem +  printer and plugging them back in, restarting PC, turning printer on and off, almost **bleep** near everything and it's still not working. I got on chat with an HP support person and after 2+ hrs, we could only factory reset the **bleep** thing and now it won't even print test pages.

So incredibly disappointing that a perfectly functioning printer won't print unless it's connected to the internet. I'm not even that old and I remember the days when a printer just needed to be plugged in via USB and it would just work.

Any ideas on what to do? I don't have another ethernet port on my modem to plug the printer directly in. Do I need to get a hub to add extra ports for the printer?
