Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)

Good morning,
I have an HP Officejet 6950 printer inserted in a school network, partly wired partly Wi-Fi.

The printer is used from a single location connected via Wi-fi

The problem is that the printer can be located and installed from other locations on the network.

Can I block the visibility of the printer, or restrict its use, to other users?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Such restrictions can only be done by your network administrator, not by the printer.

Connecting a printer to a shared network will be accessible for any other devices connected to that network, any possible blocking can only be done from the network side so contacting the school IT to check for any possible blocking will be required, else I suggest disconnecting it from such a network.

Thanks Shlomil

What kind of configuration do you suggest by the network administrator side?

I can't believe that HP did not provide this type of security rule
