It's been years since I installed my C7280 wirelessly in my home netword that was running XP Media Center. I now have a new Windows 10 PC. I'm trying to use the Embedded Web Server via my browser to access/verify the Netword settings. Unfortunately, it's been soon long since last use that I can't find or remember the user name and password that I'm being prompted to enter when I select the Settings or Networking tabs.
Is there any way to recover the user name and password? Do I need to return the printer to initial default settings and go through initial setup again?
I appreciate all help that may be forthcoming.

Hi to all that have replied. Sorry for the delay. Other family matters took my time.
Thanks for the info on Photo Creations replacing Photosmart Essentials. It shouldn't be a problem for me as I really used the former program to print photos at home.
I have to confess that my troubles turned out to be self induced.
After receiving the new Windows 10 PC, I used an application from EaseUS called Todo PCTrans to send files and applications from my old XP PC to the new PC. I got a little over zealous and mistakenly sent all the HP applications. While the program does send all the programs, data, and settings for an app, the directory structure is sufficiently different between XP and 10 that, while the apps work, one has a high probability of being able to uninstall a given app since items are nolonger located where they were in the original install.
After setting up the printer on 10, it was working OK with the old software and drivers, but I thought it would be a good idea to then update with the latest software and drivers for Windows 10. Not all of the old stuff was able to be removed and caused some installation problems, especially with the digital imaging software.
I've since wiped out everything on the new PC, re-installed 10, and installed all the drivers and software originally delivered. I'm going to take a full system backup at this point before proceeding with the printer installation with the latest software and drivers for 10. I don't believe I'll run into any more problems; at least not with the printer.
Again, thanks to all who provided assistance, information, and suggestions.

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.
I reviewed the case regarding issues with EWS page log in. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉
Usually, it will be the router's username and password. The default one's are, "admin" for both username and password.
Let me know how that pans out. 🙂
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask any other queries as well,

Thanks for the assistance. I actually finally remembered the password I had set for the web interface.
I have another question regarding the install.
Going through the install, my wireless printer was detected, but I got an error message that TCP port 9220 was blocked. I went into the Windows firewall and unblocked the port in the inbound and outbound rules and got past that problem.
However, during the software install, I got a Windows Compatability error message box stating that the Bing Toolbar would not run on this level of windows. Now, in the final stage of the install, I got an error that one of the programs failed to install (I assume it's referring to the Bing toolbar). The Windows installer box is still open with the spinning pointer, and the HP installation window seems to be stuck in the Configuring product section (last section) with a spinning disk image and status bar at the bottom continually showing the sliding green indicator.
Just got a fatal error and the install has backed out after a reboot. Any ideas on how to get around the Bing bar install problem?

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
Follow the steps given below and perform a root level re-installation.Once done, As you did earlier, goto the firewall and allow the whole HP printer installation program, and then follow this link https://hp.care/2qDeSYy and isntall the full feature driver software. 🙂
I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
This should do the trick for you.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue.
The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. 😉

Sorry for the delay. We had a family dinner gathering.
Before/if I proceed with your latest suggestions, I have some questions.
First, I believe the only failure during the install was the installation of the Bing Bar as not being compatible with Windows 10 64-bit. How does your response address this issue?
Second, even though there were messages that the install was backed out, everything appears to be installed (except Bing) and working OK; i.e. HP Solution Center starts up and functions as expected, and I can print. Am I missing something?
Third, does the HP Photo Creations app replace the HP Photosmart Essential 3.5 app that was installed on my old XP Media Center PC?
BTW, during the install of latest software/drivers package I downloaded, I wasn't given the choice regarding an express install vs. a custom install; i.e. I couldn't specify to NOT install the Bing bar.
The install package I downloaded was as follows:
PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5.exe

To answers your second and third questions,
Usually, you get an option to uncheck the Bing Bar installation and as you have mentioned everything works fine, you could continue to use your printer.
Yes, HP Photo Creations app replaces the HP Photosmart Essential 3.5 app.

Yes, HP Photo Creations replaced Photosmart Essential many years ago. It runs on Windows 7, 8, and 10, as well as macOS 10.9 and up.
Note that HP Photo Creations is not a direct replacement for the older program; HP Photo Creations is designed for creative printing. Let us know what you wanted to do with Essential and we'll try to suggest a path in HP Photo Creations.
The links below have tips and tutorials.
Note that HP Photo Creations checks for updates each time you launch it, so you always have the latest version.
Hope this helps,
